Client Case Study: Isys Group Swindon

Isys Group the UK's leading Time & Attendance provider required a new website, ongoing advertising and a brand revamp.

Isys group are a Swindon based company that develop and install a range of workforce management solutions including Time and Attendance and Access Control. After a brief period working with them in the past Isys got in touch to see how I could help improve their website again.

History

Isys had an established web presence that had been supplied by a design agency which served them fine initially, however as the business grew and requirements changed they soon found they had outgrown this site.

Isys contacted me at first to take on the management and maintenance of this web site, however following a discussion about their goals and concerns the decision was made to rebuild the site from the ground up. In addition to this web design I was able to advise a number of other steps that we could pursue to meet all their goals, including SEO & Online Advertising (Google Adwords).

First Things First; Web Design

Conscious of the restrictions the previous Content Management System (CMS) had placed on their site I designed the new Isys site to work using an open source solution meaning there were no restrictions on what would be possible with the new design.

After the initial consultation I took the web design through a number of stages:

  1. Initial Sketches
  2. Prototyping
  3. Finalise and Publish

I ensured Isys were involved at every stage, so they always felt in control of the design direction at all times.

Outcome

Following the roll out of this new design Isys have enjoyed a much higher customer conversion rate and increase in natural SEO rankings. Along with this improvement in look and usability, the new web site I provided is driven by open source software saving Isys hundreds in ongoing licensing fees.

Ongoing Results

SEO: As part of the cosmetic web site redesign I took a detailed look at the organisation and content of the Isys site. I made significant changes and designed a schedule to inject fresh new content regularly to the site. These changes resulted in Isys jumping from the second page of Google results to the top of the first page and a marked increase in traffic because of this – something that would have cost thousands of pounds in advertising spend to accomplish.

Online Advertising (Google Adwords): In order to attract leads Isys spent thousands of pounds a month on Google Advertising. Through optimisation of this spend, improvements to the site and hands-on management I was able to decrease their cost per lead by almost 75% saving them thousands of pounds per month.
